Collaborate, create, innovate

Spark Challenges

Hosted by Enterprise Technology Community Partners

Organized by ASU Enterprise Technology Community Partners, Spark Challenges are inclusive hackathons as a service that empower students across disciplines to design innovative solutions to enhance society.

Our esteemed partners include the W. P. Carey School of Business, the Global Futures Laboratory, and notable organizations such as Falling Walls, OpenAI, TIAA, Verizon, and Zoom. Community Partners includes a worldwide network exemplified by initiatives like the QS ImpACT Skills Challenge—a global hackathon co-founded by Arizona State University Enterprise Technology in partnership with QS ImpACT and the University of Exeter in 2024; now expanding into 2025, Spark Challenges continue to inspire innovation worldwide.

program overview

Spark Challenges are rooted in the values of principled and responsible innovation, offering opportunities for the Sun Devil community to collaborate, create and innovate with technology.

Created under Enterprise Technology Community Partners, the Spark Challenges program reflects ASU’s mission of Inclusive Excellence by producing hackathons that are inclusive of diverse audiences and disciplines, while maintaining the competitive spirit of teamwork and innovation. Spark Challenges foster access and excellence through hybrid formats, multiple track options and mentorship opportunities. Final evaluations are conducted by a cohort of subject matter experts, with prizes including funded awards, internships and other career-enhancing benefits. In collaboration with our partners, we are proud to co-produce experiences designed to serve as career catalysts for the broader ASU community.
