Breakout Sessions: Round 1

• Ask a Database: While a normal AI chatbot can get answers from the internet or from documents, many questions require data from a database to get the answers they need. Natural Language Querying uses a chatbot that turns your normal question into a database SQL query and returns the answer. Come by and try it for yourself!
• Data Privacy Fundamentals: Regardless of your role at ASU, data privacy is everyone’s responsibility. This interactive session will empower you with real-world tools to keep ASU’s data safe and make you a privacy pro your team can rely on.

• Workday Check-Ins: Information session to introduce ASU's new employee feedback tool and answer questions about the process. This session will provide an overview of both the employee and manager roles in the process.
• Culture + Creativity + Swag = Win Win Win!: Help us create something visual and collective that celebrates who we are! You’ll create a mini masterpiece that reflects our team’s culture, values, and spirit. Once complete, pieces will come together in a stunning mosaic - a visual high-five to who we are and what we stand for. • Hands-On with CreateAI: Learn, create, and challenge what you know about AI: Step into the world of CreateAI and see how interns are using cutting-edge tools to make tasks faster, easier, and more secure. From building student-support bots to showcasing projects with Builder, Compare, Chat, and Knowledge Base, interns will walk you through real examples of AI in action. Join for interactive activities such as test your knowledge through a hands-on activities
• Elevating Security: Understanding ASU's Updated technology standards: Join us for an engaging breakout session tailored for all members of Enterprise Technology to walk through ASU’s newly updated cybersecurity and data governance standards. This session will provide a clear overview of the revised expectations, responsibilities, and compliance requirements that impact day-to-day operations across the organization. We’ll highlight key updates across areas such as mobile device management, access controls, encryption, data retention, vendor oversight, and incident response. The goal is to ensure that everyone understands their role in supporting a secure and compliant technology environment. 

•  Building a ServiceNow Catalog Item: Building a ServiceNow catalog item is like creating a personalized, online order form for a business service or product, guiding users through a simple self-service process from request to fulfillment. It involves three key components: the item itself, which includes its name, description, and image; the variables, which are the questions asked of the user to gather necessary information; and the workflow, which automates the fulfillment process by routing tasks, approvals, or notifications to the correct people or systems. By linking these elements, you can transform a complex business process into an intuitive and efficient experience for the end-user, while also automating the work on the back end.

   

• Student Worker to Employee: Lessons from Classroom Support: How do student workers become some of the strongest members of a professional team? This session highlights the successful pathways we’ve built to help student workers transition into full-time staff roles. Drawing on real experiences, we’ll share proven strategies for hiring, training, and empowering student workers, as well as personal stories from those who’ve made the leap from classroom support to career professionals. Attendees will leave with practical insights into building effective student worker programs, fostering growth, and creating opportunities that strengthen both the student experience and the organization.
