Smart Cities Technology Forum for Tribal Nations, Pueblos, and Communities

The Inter Tribal Council of Arizona will host a Smart Cities Technology Thought Leadership Forum to inform tribal leaders from Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Nevada about smart cities technologies and the potential benefits for Tribal Nations, Pueblos, and Communities. Tribal leaders and technology professionals will engage in a wide-ranging discussion about Smart Cities Technology end-user benefits for such government functions as public safety, healthcare, and P-20 education. Other topics include access to dedicated FCC funding and rural broadband accessibility initiatives, all of which can positively impact the efficiencies of tribal government and quality of life in Indian Country.

Breakout sessions will offer discussions on tribal deployment of technologies in support of industries, networking infrastructure pilots, and long-term sustainability. In collaboration with Arizona State University’s Office of American Indian Initiatives, the forum will establish a foundation for tribal interaction on the future of tribal sovereign digital communities, technology exchange, and growing Indigenous regional network planning that can lead to setting priorities for collaborations, external funding strategies, and implementation.
