ASU Enterprise Technology introduces two new tools for secure data handling
Arizona State University is set to enhance data management practices with the introduction of two safe, accessible, and easy-to-use tools: the Data Storage Selector and the Data Classification Tool.
The Data Storage Selector helps users choose Enterprise-wide data storage options that comply with regulations. It simplifies and expedites the process of determining correct classifications and available storage solutions.
The Data Classification Tool uses a brief set of yes-or-no questions to identify data types and their specific handling requirements. Each response directs the algorithm in precisely classifying data, ensuring users gain a clear understanding of the proper management and handling restrictions for their unique data classification and any applicable regulations.
These tools aim to provide valuable, accurate information that empowers users to make informed decisions about data management. Their adoption will boost efficiency and security across various domains.
These convenient, secure resources will soon replace the existing Data Classification Matrix and are expected to significantly improve data handling practices across the university.
