Produced by ASU Enterprise Technology Affairs, Spark Challenges are inclusive hackathons that empower Sun Devils and partners across disciplines to develop innovative solutions for real-world impact.
Spark Challenges are fast-paced, technology-driven sprints of applied creativity. Part hackathon, part innovation playground, these events invite the Sun Devil community to demonstrate what’s possible when imagination, responsible innovation, and technology converge in a dynamic, competitive forum. Designed as highly accelerated events (typically 24–72 hours), they invite students to explore emerging tools through playful competition, rapid prototyping, and public pitching. Spark Challenges provide a unique arena for collaboration, inspiration, and real-world skill-building, all culminating in prizes that celebrate ingenuity and technical exploration.
Spark Challenges are part of a broader suite of experience design services that feature custom challenge formats co-created with ASU academic units, external partners, and global audiences—including the W. P. Carey School of Business, the Global Futures Laboratory, and esteemed organizations such as Google, TIAA and Zoom. Enterprise Technology proudly supports a global engagement network that includes the QS ImpACT Skills Challenge, a worldwide hackathon co-founded by ASU Enterprise Technology, QS ImpACT, and the University of Exeter advancing innovation and inclusion across industries and communities.
