ASU’s T4 Leadership Academy welcomes faculty to its inaugural cohort
In a world where technological advances seem to be released quicker than society can keep up, it’s imperative to ground technology leaders and and their organizations in a balance of technical skills and human-centered approaches for responsible innovation.
Dedicated to creating a more inclusive, accessible and equitable technology landscape, Arizona State University has launched the T4 Leadership Academy, which believes that digital and cultural transformation line the pathway to equity, access and impact.
In doing so, the mission of T4 is to cultivate IT professionals into transformative leaders who are globally engaged and locally attuned to the role of technology for social benefit and invested in designing the intergenerational workforce of the future.
Starting with the ASU IT community
Led by Christine Whitney Sanchez, Chief Culture Officer at ASU’s University Technology Office (UTO), and powered by a dedicated volunteer planning team, T4 is designed to be cross-institutional by inviting leaders from across the ASU Public Enterprise – including the Academic Enterprise, Knowledge Enterprise and Learning Enterprise – to be part of the inaugural cohort, with plans to expand the Academy beyond ASU in the future.
Friday, May 20 marked the official welcome for faculty and small-group facilitators, who will guide T4's pilot cohort of 16 participants in their journey to become transformative leaders. Together, the group will embark on a year-long process through T4’s trailblazing curriculum beginning in June 2022.
Timothy Summers, Executive Director for Digital Trust Initiatives at UTO and T4 faculty, noted that “leaders who emerge from the T4 Leadership Academy will be empowered to leverage technology to help make positive world change. We recognize that technology alone is not enough, it is technology informed by the humanities that warm our spirits and support us in developing the next generation of responsibly effective leaders at a time where we need it most.”
The T4 Leadership Academy, its faculty and cohorts will be responsive to the speed and scale of change in our communities. For more information on the T4 Leadership Academy, visit our website and connect with us on LinkedIn.
