Canvas incident 2026: What to know

ASU’s Canvas instances (e.g., canvas.asu.edu, asu.instructure.com) are currently unavailable to all community members, who are now routed to a system maintenance screen when attempting to access Canvas through either link. The issue originated within the Instructure environment and is not related to ASU-managed systems.

On May 7 at 1:00 p.m. MST, operations teams began receiving and investigating reports that ASU community members attempting to access Canvas, a service owned by Instructure, were being redirected to a security incident notification screen.
