UTO 5K run furthers ASU’s contributions to United Way
Every year, ASU supports Valley of the Sun United Way to further their mission of addressing health, housing, education, workforce development and more in Maricopa County. As part of a university-wide approach, UTO takes part to give back to the community we serve. Last week, staff from every part of UTO came out to support United Way through our first ever United Way 5K fun run, which offered an in-person outdoor and virtual opportunity to participate.
More than 40 team members, peers, friends and even significant others participated in the 5K. Close to half of the group gathered together at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex, while the other half took part in their own spaces remotely. In addition to participating in a fun and fit activity, these runners raised over $1,300 for United Way.
Combined with the donations gained from the UTO Holiday Party, our teams are proud to contribute $8,564 to the United Way over the past two months.
