T.H.O.R. to the rescue
Tactical Holistic Organizational Readiness (THOR), has been implemented in the UTO to ensure that IT systems are reliable and available, and that the business is able to depend upon them. THORs objective is to utilize our people, resources and processes efficiently and effectively to eliminate disruptions to normal operations when new services, offerings or products are introduced into existing environments.
In order to ensure that we are able to take action on outstanding items - your attendance is encouraged. Decisions regarding the readiness of a project, the movement of MOB work and other project work has been delegated to the Directors. This meeting provides a weekly venue to address resources without having to be cherry picked by several project managers throughout the week.
The THOR agenda is broken into 7 different components:
|
This then unhinges the AVP Monday weekly meetings to focus on Program management. In the AVP Meeting, program managers will discuss program roadmaps, outstanding issues/decisions, including resource constraints that cannot be answered/resolved within THOR.
Again, the goal of THOR is to ensure that IT systems are reliable and available, and that the business is able to depend upon them. THORs objective is to utilize our people, resources and processes efficiently and effectively to eliminate disruptions to normal operations when new services, offerings, or products are introduced into existing environments. This means working together holistically rather than working as though departments, or even the different types of work, are mutually exclusive of one another.
If done correctly THOR will ensure that resources are reserved for the right work, at the right time and avaiable right now.
To particpate in THOR, the meetings are held every "Thorsday" (Thursday) in USB 1302. If you wish to participate remotely, please contact Carol Schumacher to be added to the meeting series.
